Wat Arun, Bangkok
Arguably the most beautiful temple in Bangkok, Wat Arun is known for both its awesome riverside location and its unique intricate design. Known as the Temple of Dawn, a visit first thing in the morning will not only help you beat the crowds but also offer you views of the temple with a stunning sunrise backdrop. If you’re not an early bird type, sunset is also a great time to visit. After exploring, you can even further your experience by crossing the river and enjoying a drink at one of the riverside bars, where you can watch the sunset behind the temple’s silhouette.

Elephant Sanctuary, Chiang Mai
The opportunity to meet an animal as incredible as an elephant in real life is definitely worthy of a post on the ‘gram, but only if it’s done right. At the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, you can have the opportunity to meet, feed, bathe and play with rescued elephants in an ethical environment. From preparing bamboo and bananas for them to eat to cooling them down with a refreshing bath in the heat, you’re in for an unforgettable experience here.
Please stay clear of companies offering elephant rides, both bareback and with box seats, for the welfare on the animals. Find out more about ethical tourism here.

Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai
Wat Pra That Doi Suthep is one of North Thailand’s most sacred temples, said to have been built to enshrine a bone from the historical Buddha. Not only is the wat itself absolutely beautiful, the journey to and the views from really make a visit here unmissable. Situated on a mountain just outside Chiang Mai, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city below from the temple’s inner terrace. And if that wasn’t enough, even the climb is made spectacular by its 306-step, dragon-lined stairs.
