13-Day Budget Japan Tour
I really enjoyed the trip. I visited really nice places, the rest of the group were amazing fun to be around, and the tour guide was amazing at ensuring we were always on time…
On the day before my birthday last year I posted a photo of the sparkling Caribbean Water from my recent trip to Antigua saying I planned for my 28th year to be full of more water like this.💙
.
At this point I had decided I was going to quit my job and leave London but I hadn’t handed in my notice yet so that was a little hint to you and some accountability for me!🤭
.
It’s now one year later & my 28th year on this planet was filled with a lot travel just like I’d hoped & planned.💫
.
I didn’t actually see that much crystal clear water (although I still saw a fair bit) but I did see a lot of New Countries, Cities, Mountains, Ceremonies, Night Trains, Beaches, Islands and a lot more!🌍
.
Without planning tooo far ahead I feel like I can see 29 quite clearly, or at least the Countries it’ll take me to anyway.✈️😉
.
It’s going to be full of adventure, full of building a business for myself & I hope more connection, with myself and other people around me.💕
.
So for my last day being 28, I think this photo is quite fitting.⛰...
We must have taken about 100 photos on the Great Wall, it was just the best experience😅
What’s your opinion on guided-travel?
We personally love it when visiting countries that are super different to our home or that speak a language we just can’t hack. In this case, China! We went with thedragontrip which allowed us to experience things that other tourists couldn’t or at least couldn’t as easily! For example, camping over night on an unrestored part of the wall.
We also love guided-travel for day trips, for example in Berlin we learnt more about the history of the war through a guide.
But it also comes with the downsides: Less time to roam freely, do your own thing and it obviously comes at a cost.
Did you think that The Great Wall of China is called ‘Great’ because of its size? I did.🇨🇳
.
It’s true that the wall is the longest man made structure in the world but that’s not the reason.😯
.
It’s called the ‘Great Wall’ because it was built with Sweat & Tears. Many people died doing back breaking work to build this wall to protect China from the North with their bodies buried under the wall too. It was built by Soliders to start, then prisoners but they still needed more help so families with 2 males in their family had to send 1 to help build it, crazy right?!🤭
.
So it’s called the Great Wall because of what was endured to build it, as well as it’s size.❤️
.
And naturally whilst sitting outside our tents at night in the dark we did have a conversation about the ghosts and spirits that must roam the wall...👻...
Another one from my Mt. Bromo viewing serie. This one was taken just before the sun was about to appear at the horizon - when the real magic of Mt. Bromo reveals itself.
Trying out some new hues - let me know what you think about it!

As you may know, I'm back in China and spending some quality time with my family for some weeks. I need to admit that 6 months of traveling does make you super exhausted, even though my mind is urging me to continue. Learning and creating every single day has been fulfilling in many ways. Now is time to tidy things up a bit.

The man with his smoking pipe

Since I bought myself a prime 50mm lens in Japan, I started more and more to go out and shoot only photos with one lens, focusing on streetphotography. It's wierd I had this shift where I enjoy photography more than filmmaking 🤷🏻♂️. Still love to shoot videos and my 4tb harddisk is officially full 😍 I just need to find the time to edit, so in the meantime I post photos.

From the big skyscrapers of Honk Kong 🏙 to the big skyscrapers of Yangshuo ⛰. On our first morning whunt3r laurajade_97, mylensabroad, sacha_wilkinson and I went on a little 5 am hiking mission up to a point of view overlooking the city....
Oh look a Panda 🐼
.
I enjoyed learning about this animal during our stay in Chengdu, Sichuan area. It's the last region were you can find them in nature. We had to chance to see them in the research base of Chengdu, learned about they're food diet which is mostly bamboo or leaves and more.
.
Also fun fact do you know why the WWF Logo is a Panda? It's because it was the most endangered animal at the time of the founding year of the WWF in 1961

The main reason I went to Hong Kong was that I booked a 25 day tour to the mainland of China.
The tour would take us on a big loop around the country and end up back in Hong Kong.
I had no expectations about the tour since I've was traveling solo backpacker style for the last 8 month. So it sounded to me like refreshing new way to travel.
I was mostly looking forward to
1. not having to figured out how to get from A to B.
2. where to stay, which hostel how to get there.
3. what to see or to do.
.
Just basically sit back and relax 😄 .
On our first day we went up the Victoria Peak to have a final look over the city of Hong Kong before heading to our first bullet train to China mainland...
Does this place need any introduction?
.
We made it just in time for sunset. First I really thought that the wall was near of Beijing but it was still an three hours bus journey there, then I heard a lot of mixed thing about the great wall of China. One being full of tourist making it hard to soak in the beauty of this ancient place but the tour company brought us to a restored part of the wall and to our surprise we got the whole place for us...
