The main reason I went to Hong Kong was that I booked a 25 day tour to the mainland of China.
The tour would take us on a big loop around the country and end up back in Hong Kong.
I had no expectations about the tour since I've was traveling solo backpacker style for the last 8 month. So it sounded to me like refreshing new way to travel.
I was mostly looking forward to
1. not having to figured out how to get from A to B.
2. where to stay, which hostel how to get there.
3. what to see or to do.
.
Just basically sit back and relax 😄 .
On our first day we went up the Victoria Peak to have a final look over the city of Hong Kong before heading to our first bullet train to China mainland

Another one from my Mt. Bromo viewing serie. This one was taken just before the sun was about to appear at the horizon - when the real magic of Mt. Bromo reveals itself.
Trying out some new hues - let me know what you think about it!

As you may know, I'm back in China and spending some quality time with my family for some weeks. I need to admit that 6 months of traveling does make you super exhausted, even though my mind is urging me to continue. Learning and creating every single day has been fulfilling in many ways. Now is time to tidy things up a bit.

⛩ Thousand Tori Gates in Kyoto ⛩
On our free day in Kyoto we decided to visit these very famous Tori gates. There are thousands of them making beautiful walkways. It is said that if you want to get “the” shot then you need to arrive super early to avoid the crowds. This shot was taken at midday, the lighting was just perfect and there is no one in the photo. Boy was it busy but with a little patience you can get the best photos without compromising on your time ( too much fun at Karaoke the night before meant we wanted to sleep in). We have found this with many places, patience is key. If you can’t get any with no people in them then make them a part of the photo. This will show a more authentic shot anyway. Do you plan shoots early in the morning to avoid crowds?

“Ten years from now, make sure you can say you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it.”
Phil and I have travelled for years by ourselves and for the first time we decided to say yes to an opportunity to travel as a group! For me it is hard to let go of the organising reigns - will it be up to my standard? Will I get to see what I want to see? Will it cost more? Will I get on with other people who I haven’t met before? Will we be the only couple? Want the verdict? I absolutely loved it! Not having to organise anything was actually so refreshing! It was relaxing and inspiring, getting a tour guide to explore the country with. We made instant connections with everyone on tour and left as friends even planning meet ups for when we are back! When it was just Phil and I for a day we kinda missed the group. The activities we took part in were ones we would never have ever done - like singing Karaoke in a bar full of strangers or Sumo wrestling an actual Sumo Wrestler! We have made memories that we would never have made had it not been for thedragontrip. If you have ever thought group travel wasn’t for you, I urge you to think again. It’s one of our favourite trips we have ever been on. Thank you Dragontrip and chipamwenya for this. Loads more photos to come from this trip - Japan is amazing and I can’t wait to share more of it with you. .

Does this place need any introduction?
.
We made it just in time for sunset. First I really thought that the wall was near of Beijing but it was still an three hours bus journey there, then I heard a lot of mixed thing about the great wall of China. One being full of tourist making it hard to soak in the beauty of this ancient place but the tour company brought us to a restored part of the wall and to our surprise we got the whole place for us
