About our Shanghai Group Tours
Travelling Sustainably

9-day Beijing to Shanghai Tour
The dragon trip experience was truly amazing… each day was packed with things to do. The tour guides go out the way to be friendly, supportive and helpful. I would truely recommend the dragon trip to family and friends.

25-Day China Loop
I thoroughly enjoyed the 25-day China loop offered by The Dragon Trip. It is one of the most extensive trips currently being offered and it truly covers everything you want and need to see in China. Yes, it’s intense, but the itinerary is well thought out and well balanced...

18-Day Shanghai Loop
Dragon Trip did an amazing job of showing us some highlights of China in an 18 day trip. It was good value for money. It was really nice having a local guide for each of the places. The structure of the trip was very good – it meant all the highlights were included in the price…

Travel Shanghai
Why wouldn’t you visit Shanghai on a group tour? There are countless reasons to take the leap and visit this thriving metropolis.
At the forefront of human innovation, Shanghai is home to world-famous skyscrapers like Shanghai Tower, the World Financial Center, and the Oriental Pearl Tower. When night falls and these buildings illuminate to create an unforgettable sight. Shanghai’s cultural scene is truly unmissable – trendy bars and rooftop lounges are interspersed with amazing cultural events, museums, galleries, and theatres.
Our Shanghai tours showcase ‘The Bund’ – a historic waterfront area with colonial-era architecture, which is quite the contrast to the shiny modern buildings on the other side. From luxury boutiques and traditional markets to scrumptious Shanghainese cuisine, and historical sites like the Yuyuan Garden and Jade Buddha Temple, there are plenty of attractions and activities to keep your days just as busy as your nights.
The Bund: The Bund is a gorgeous, historical waterfront area in Shanghai. Unique colonial-style Art Deco buildings line the sprawling west bank of the river, overlooking the glitzy skyscrapers to the East. Here you can take a leisurely stroll with a view; there’s nowhere better to take a break from the fast-paced life in Shanghai.
Shanghai Museum: Immerse yourself in Shanghai’s local culture at the Shanghai Museum. The Shanghai Museum houses an impressive collection of over 120,000 artefacts, including the most ancient Chinese ceramics. Trace over 5,000 years of Chinese history to the skyscrapers of today – and adventure through the nearby Shanghai Grand Theatre and Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.
Yu Gardens: Rich in local Chinese culture and, of course, delicious Shanghai-style dumplings, the Yu Gardens (also known as the Yuyuan Gardens) are a must-see destination in Shanghai. Originally completed in 1577 under the Ming Dynasty, not only are the Yu Gardens the perfect example of beautiful, classical Chinese garden design, but they also provide a special glimpse into Chinese cultural performances – music, theatre, and dance included. Take a photo at the Grand Rockery, and when a rest is needed, savour tea at a traditional teahouse.
As with most trips abroad, whether you need a visa to visit Shanghai will depend on your nationality, the purpose of your trip, and the duration of your visit. Most visitors will require a visa for trips upwards of a week. The most common Chinese Tourist visa, also known as the L visa, should be applied for ahead of your departure.

When should I visit Shanghai?
To avoid the stifling heat of Shanghai’s summers and the biting cold of winter, we recommend springtime (March to May) and autumn (September to November) as great times to visit Shanghai.
