Galmegi itself is an iconic craft brewery in Busan which now operates 5 bars throughout the city (including in Haeundae). We’re big fans of the bar for a few reasons, not least the fact it’s so ‘authentically Busan’. The bar has two stories so you can be fairly confident you’ll get a seat. There are also plenty of exciting beers here to try – including their Espresso Vanilla Stout. As another advantage, they serve some easy food if you get hungry, including pizza.
Cocky pub is an all-round great bar with a roof-terrace and beach views. It’s a reliable spot for picking up some simple comfort food (we’d recommend the burgers) as well as offering a wide variety of drinks. If you’re on a night out then head upstairs and there’s a beer pong table you can play on! As a heads-up, the Cocky Pub’s location can mean it can get quite busy, so you might not always get a table.
We’re fans of Thursday Party and there are a fair few branches of the bar around South Korea (it made it onto our list of Seoul bars too). What makes the Busan Thursday Party great is that its cheap prices and fun games make it a hotspot for travellers and local students alike. If you head over to the bar on Gwangan Beach Road you’ll get a great view of the Gwangan-Bridge and the nearby beach. Grab a drink and enjoy playing some table football or darts. Of course, a trip to Thursday Party would not be complete without dancing to some K-Pop!
If you prefer your bars to be a little more refined then Papa’s is the place for you. Haeundae is full of party energy and while that can be a good thing, sometimes you might feel overwhelmed. Papa’s goes for a simple bar style and its social side is more focused on friendly bar staff than loud music. What’s more, unlike many of the bars on this list, Papa’s specialises in cocktails and not craft beer. So swing by, browse the cocktail menu, chat to the bar staff and relax.
First and foremost, Fuzzy Navel is excellently placed. It’s right on the beach front which makes it a great first stop if you’re heading out after a day on the beach. Enjoy the view while you take a sip on your drink and try some of the bar’s tasty food. It specialises in Mexican cuisine and we’ve never got bored of the food there. As a bonus, sometimes the bar staff put on a fire show you can watch!
