Indonesia Adventure Tour- Day 1 – Jakarta

Meet your Adventure Leader and the rest of the group at your hostel in Jakarta, before taking a wander over to the nearby National Monument which offers sweeping views of this metropolis. Enjoy your first taste of Indonesian cuisine before listening to a trip briefing.

Day 2 – Cikananga Wildlife Centre

We’ll begin our journey with a visit to the Cikananga Wildlife Centre.

This is a very special conservation project not usually open to the public which helps rehabilitate animals that are rescued from the illegal pet trade. You will have the opportunity to see orangutans, leopards and many other animals, and help the staff prepare food and activities for them, such as bamboo tubes filled with honey, which the bears love!

After the sun goes down, take a night hike through the jungle, guided by former animal poachers who now use their tracking skills to help visitors spot jungle insects and animals. Stay overnight at the centre, deep in the Javan rainforest.

Day 3 – Bogor & Yogyakarta:

Head out of the jungle and transfer to Bogor where you will explore the beautiful botanical gardens.

Then you will be transferred to Jakarta airport, where you’ll catch a flight to Yogyakarta. When you arrive, you will head to the hostel and check in.

Once you are refreshed and settled, why not head out to join in the fun at Alun Alun Kidal Square?

Day 4 – Yogyakarta:

Today is a full-day trip to Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist Temple. This temple dates from the 8th and 9th centuries and is located in central Java. It was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and, at the top, a monumental stupa. The monument was restored with UNESCO’s help in the 1970s.

You will also get the opportunity to visit the Prambanan & Ploasan Temples.

Day 5 – Mount Bromo:

This morning we visit the Water Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site comprised of gardens and bathing complex of the ruling family. Here, you can taste the unique ‘kopi luwak’ coffee and enjoy the surroundings.

We’ll then head over to Mount Bromo- an area of outstanding natural beauty – on arrival- relax, take in the surroundings and get ready for an early start!

Day 6 – Mount Bromo:

Start the day bright and early as we embark on a hike to the edge of the volcano crater for a series of very impressive views.

You will then fill up on a local breakfast and head to the Madakaripura Waterfall, the biggest waterfall in East Java! Here, we will have a lunch break and relax before heading to Banyuwangi, a quiet coastal village.

Day 7 – Ljen Volcano and Pemuteran:

An optional activity today is a chance to rise early and hike to Ljen Volcano with its blue crater.

In the afternoon we’ll board the ferry from Java to Bali and arrive at Pemuteran, a small fishing village on the Northern coast of Bali.

Day 8 – Canggu on Bali Island:

This morning you can opt for snorkelling to discover some of the best coral in the region at Menjangan Island. You can opt to boat over to this stunning enclave or relax on the beautiful beaches near your hostel. Opt to snorkel over the Biorock project and learn more about the conservation at the world’s largest coral-planting project!

We’ll then head South towards the buzzing and beautiful Canggu, a super-cool beach-side backpacking town known for its cafe culture, beaches and world class gyms.

If you fancy going out-out in the evening, then you can enjoy the nightlife after dinner, we recommend a couple of beach clubs. The Old Man’s Beach and Echo Beach are famous for their great atmosphere and affordable prices.

Day 9 – Ubud on Bali Island:

A new day and a paradise to explore: Ubud! Eat a budget breakfast at the hostel before departing to Ubud, where you will arrive at around 1 pm.

In the afternoon, you will explore Ubud City with a walking tour of the area, as you explore the main streets, Kajeng Rice Fields and local villages. You will continue your tour with visits to the Monkey Forest, the Royal Palace and Goa Gajah before heading back to the centre to stroll through the markets for some delicious street food! You will also get to experience the local culture as you watch an Ubud Fire Kecek dance show.

Day 10 – Ubud on Bali Island:

Enjoy a tranquil start to the day with a yoga class in the gardens of your hostel.

Either spend the afternoon wandering around the tranquil surroundings or opt explore the area outside Ubud and visit the Tukad Cepung Waterfall, a stunning natural cascade which you can swim in. After, travel to Penglipuran, one of the cleanest villages in the world and a great place to witness Bali’s daily life and explore the sense of simple living. You can also check out the village of Kintamani and admire the amazing views of Lake Batur and the volcano.

The next stop is Pura Tirta Empal, a spring for holy water, and the Tegallang Rice Terrace, which is Ubud’s most famous attraction.

To finish the evening, you’ll enjoy drinks at a rooftop bar that overlooks the local rice fields.

Day 11 – Gili Trawangan:

Around 9am, you will take a minivan and then board a ferry to the Gili Islands. Hop ashore at Gili Trawangan and check into your hostel. Here, you will have the opportunity to bike around the beautiful island and stop for swims along the way. To finish the tour, you will stop off at one of the Gili T swings, where you can take some photos whilst the sunsets in the distance.

Enjoy an evening of fun at the Sama Sama Reggae Bar.

Day 12 – Gili Trawangan:

Today is a free day! Have a lie-in, relax on the gorgeous beaches, hire a bike to explore the island by yourself, or take part in an optional half a day snorkelling tour around the 3 Gili islands – Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. They are characterised by sandy beaches fringed with palm trees, and they’re known for their coral reefs just offshore. At Gili Trawangan, the largest island, a sunken ship sits at Wreck Point near Mentigi Beach.

Day 13 – Farewell to paradise:

It’s the final day of your Indonesia adventure tour! Grab your last idyllic island glimpses before we head back to Kuta – near the airport. We can book your accommodation there or you can choose to stay on the Gili Islands and take part in a 3 day PADI course.
