It’s hard to deny that India is one of the most vibrant, culturally rich and beautiful countries in the world, which is why you should be planning an India trip . The Indian Government even launched a tourism campaign named ‘Incredible India’, so it’s safe to say we can all agree on that. But if you need a little more persuasion, here are the most Instagrammable places in India guaranteed to make your profile the talk of the town.
Taj Mahal, Agra
This might seem obvious, but the Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, so a snap of this is an absolute must for anyone travelling in India. To get the perfect Instagram shot, we’d recommend visiting first thing in the morning. This way, you’ll catch the stunning sunrise as your backdrop, and avoid the busy crowds. Go for the classic shot from in front of the reflecting pools, or mix it up and go for a dramatic shot through the archways.
The Hawa Mahal, Jaipur
The beautiful red sandstone used to build the Hawa Mahal is one of the reasons why Jaipur is nicknamed the Pink City. The building’s architecture is like nothing you’ve seen before, and its exterior symmetry makes for a very satisfying snap. Take in the sheer scale of the building from road level, or pay a visit to the Wind View Cafe opposite for the perfect candid on the cafe’s roof terrace.
Thar Desert, Rajasthan
Dramatic photo of the rolling sand dunes? Check. Cheeky photo of your new furry friend? Check. Starry night sky photo in front of a bonfire? Check. There are so many Instagrammable moments on offer with a camel safari in the Thar Desert. So many that you’ll probably struggle to pick which one to post! Your followers will be rushing to book an India trip in 2020 too! #fomo
Matanga Hill, Hampi
Hampi’s rock-strewn terrain looks like something out of this world! With a bouldered landscape and ancient temple ruins, it feels almost apocalyptic. The best way to really appreciate the vast landscape is to hike up to Matanga Hill for some amazing panoramic views. We recommend aiming to reach the peak just in time to catch the sunset, so you can catch the beautiful golden hues.
Panna Miya ka Kund, Jaipur
Yet another Instagrammable spot found in Jaipur can you tell its one of the most beautiful cities in India? This ancient step well offers a unique background that would spice up any Instagram feed. Just make sure whoever takes the photo for you has a good eye, symmetry is key!
Morjim Beach, Goa
If you thought India was all about big, bustling cities, then you have a pleasant surprise waiting for you! Goa is home to some of the most beautiful beaches, boasting long stretches of white sand. Morjim Beach, also known as Turtle Beach, is one of the most popular beaches in North Goa. With picturesque palm trees, shallow blue waters and colourful beach huts, there are endless photo-ops just waiting to be snapped up.
City Palace, Jaipur
This is the last Instagrammable spot in Jaipur, we promise! The ancient palace is one of the most popular attractions in the city. With some parts of the building made from the same red sandstone as the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace add contributes to the Pink City’s reputation. On the inside, however, are beautiful and intricately detailed private chambers. Most notable of all is the Blue Room, which is only accessible through a private tour for 2,500 INR (or free if you’re travelling with us!), but completely worth it.
