The best rooftop bar in Shanghai, Vue Bar
One of the most luxurious of the rooftop bars in Shanghai, you can find VUE bar on the 32nd and 33rd floor of the five- star Hyatt on the Bund. VUE promises incredible views of the Huangpu River and the colourful skyline of the Lujiazui area on the Pudong side. We’d also recommend the VUE restaurant, here you can enjoy the serving of traditional European cuisine and a fantastic selection of beverages. Unsurprisingly, the bar gets very busy in the evening, so if you want to get a seat make sure you turn up before 7 pm! Or, if you want to guarantee yourself a place, make a reservation in advance.

2. Flair Rooftop Restaurant & Bar
Fancy a luxury evening? Experience some Shanghai flair looking out onto the Pearl Tower and the Bund. Drinks aren’t cheap, but they do offer a delicious selection of complimentary bar snacks, and there’s plenty of room to enjoy Shanghai’s highest rooftop bar, with over 200 seats indoors and outdoors.
This restaurant and bar are situated on the 58th floor of the Flair at the Ritz-Carlton. Here you can experience stunning views of the Pearl Tower, The Bund and Hongkou shor. Drinks aren’t cheap, however, they do offer a delicious selection of complimentary bar snacks that are refilled continuously throughout the night. On their drinks menu, you’ll find an extensive selection of cocktails and spirits to choose from along with plenty of room to enjoy the views from above with over 232 seats both indoors and outdoors.

3. Captain’s Bar
If you want sky-high views without the sky-high price tag, this is the place to kick back and soak up the surrounding views. If you’re looking for a fancy rooftop bar without the expensive price tag then this is a great place to kick back and soak up the surrounding views. It is located on top of Captain’s Hostel on Fuzhou Lu and offers a clear view of the Lujiazui. To get to the bar you need to walk through the Youth Hostel on the ground floor where you will step into a lift and make your way up to the 6th floor. On the menu, you’ll find reasonably priced drinks and food that you can enjoy with friends or family.

4. Sir Elly’s Terrace Rooftop Bar
Another of the best rooftop bars in Shanghai, prepare to be amazed at 270-degree panoramic views of the Huangpu River, Suzhou Creek and the Pudong skyline. Prices are a little on the expensive side – but you get what you pay for here. Expect high-class service and unforgettable views. The ambience here is also pretty chic with 1920s architecture and a stylish intimate bar and lounge. The beautiful sunset views are very popular with tourists so we suggest you arrive early to get a seat. This rooftop bar is known for its luxurious feel.

5. Kartel Wine Bar
If you’re taking part in our 22-day Shanghai loop, then this is the perfect place to get away from tourist crowds and mingle with the ex-pat community.
