Asia’s home to many of the best beaches in the entire world. There’s so many in fact that you might be finding it a little hard to know where you should be going. So here are some of our picks of the best beaches in Asia. Whether you rate a beach by its beauty, how good the water is for a swim, or for the activities you can do there, we’ve got you covered.
Vietnam: Halong Bay
Halong Bay is incredible just to look at but it’s also got some excellent beaches. We’d recommend taking a boat out to hop between its different islands. You can then take a swim around when you stop on each one. Take some time to appreciate the surrounding peaks and – if you’re feeling brave – take a jump off one into the water. If you want a little more than just swim, you can kayak through some of the bay’s caves!
Cambodia: Koh Rong
The beaches of Koh Rong island are fantastic all-rounders. When we pay a visit on our tour we take a boat out to a private area, so you’ll have the whole beach entirely to yourself.
These white sandy beaches are perfect for swimming and sunbathing. They’re also full of marine life so take some time to go snorkelling in the day. If you’re lucky, at night there’s the chance to see the waters lit up with bioluminescent plankton.
Indonesia: Canggu, Bali
Bali and beaches go hand-in-hand in many people’s minds. While it’s not as secluded as the likes of Koh Rong, there’s a great ‘beach mood’ in Bali. Cold drinks in hand, relaxing on the sand, and maybe visiting a few of the beachside bars.
Our favourite beach spot on the island is Canggu where you can have a go at surfing. It’s also a textbook Bali beach with beach parties regularly happening and lots of areas to relax in the sun.
Philippines: El Nido
El Nido’s a wide area and it’s hard to pick out just one beach there. For many at the company, it comes out on top for having the best beaches in the world. You can do everything from snorkelling to kayaking to scuba diving. Its famous sea lagoons also offer a different way to enjoy the beach experience! Ultimately, El Nido’s white sands and crystal blue waters are also just perfect to relax on.
India: Goa
We wanted to put Goa on as it has a slightly different edge to the class Southeast Asian beaches on this list. While you’re on its beaches you can absorb a little Indian culture – have a drink of lassi and enjoy some food from the vendors on the beaches. Our favourite place to go for a swim here would probably be Mandrem Beach – it’s one of the least explored in the area and nice spot to relax.
