About our Indonesia Group Tours

Indonesia has two seasons, wet and dry. The best time to visit Indonesia is all the time as the average temperature sits around 28°C all year round. For most regions, dry season falls between May and September and the wet season from October to April.

May to September is the most popular time to visit Indonesia due to the dry and sunny weather conditions. However, during the wet season temperatures still remain high, but you will experience an increase in rainfall. These downpours only last for a couple of hours. After the rainfall has stopped the blue skies will return, leaving you to enjoy the rest of your day!

Whatever the weather, our 16-day Indonesia Tour offers an array of fun activities that you can enjoy all year round.

Buses are the most common type of transport in Indonesia and are great for travellers on a budget. Most of the transport links throughout our Indonesia Tour will be via bus. Standards may vary between each bus and travel time may be quite long.

Throughout this trip, you’ll also get the opportunity to travel by boat. As you move further down south, you’ll hop aboard a 3N4D liveaboard for 3 nights/4 1/2 days. During this time, you’ll move between The Flores Islands and take part in lots of fun-filled activities!

On the first night of your trip to Indonesia, you’ll stay with a local family in an authentic homestay, where you’ll sit down and enjoy an array of delicious food and drink. For the rest of your time in Indonesia, you’ll be staying in a variety of hostels, where you and your group will get the opportunity to meet and mingle with other people whilst on your travels. Before your hike to the edge of Mount Bromo you will set up camp the night before where you’ll fall asleep under the stars and enjoy the early morning sunrise over the volcano. Flores Island is the main highlight on our 16 day Indonesia Tour. Here you will spend 3 nights on a live-aboard boat, where you will enjoy relaxed island life and take part in a variety of water based activities!

Indonesian food is known as one of the most vibrant and colourful cuisines in the world. A typical style of dish in Indonesia consists of steamed rice and one or two main dishes that are made up of vegetables, fish, meat or chicken. Each dish is made up of a careful selection of ingredients and herbs, which help create those wonderful aroma and delicious flavours.

On our Indonesia group tours you’ll indulge in affordable, authentic cuisine freshly cooked by the locals. During your free time you’ll visit fresh food markets where you’ll treat yourself to the local delicacies such as pisang goreng (banana cooked in batter), Padang satay and tumpeng.

Many of the hostels on our Indonesia group tours now offer filtered water which you can access for free or for a small fee. Bring your reusable water bottle to reduce your plastic waste. If you want to drink from the tap, you can do, but use a water purifier or filter to zap all the nasty bacteria away.

The whole visa process is very simple for Indonesia. For most travellers, you don’t need to prepare anything in advance. For travellers on British passports you are able to stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days.
