Our Sri Lanka tour offers a diverse range of highlights over two action-packed weeks. We’ll explore this stunning isle with time in the gorgeous hill country and the stunning southern beaches. Throughout the trip, our local adventure leaders will offer insights into this remarkable culture with a whole host of included activities. From hiking in the hills, white-water rafting to sampling surfing- you’ll never fail to be entertained. What’s more- there’s delicious food on offer and a warm welcome from one of the friendliest nations on earth. All this fun is amidst a consistent backdrop of some truly incredible natural splendour.

Day 1-2: Colombo and Negombo
This capital city plays host to our opening salvo in Sri Lanka. Wonder amidst the pretty old town and check out the fascinating, local fish market the next day, in nearby Negombo, and witness a live auction.
Day 2-4: Cultural Triangle
Marvel at this treasure trove of ancient splendour and fascinating history. Ascend Sigriya Rock for panoramic views, cycle the old streets of Polonnawura observing temples and sample some of the local spirit- arrack.
Day 4-6: Kandy
Stroll the streets of this lake-side gem and discover more about Buddhism at the Temple of the Tooth. Meet a Buddhist Monk to learn more about the religion and its influence on society. Visit a local charity and take a Sinhalese lesson plus a table tennis coaching tutorial!

Day 7: Kitulgala
Adrenaline junkies will be satisfied by the delights of this rainforest location. White-water raft through the rapids and marvel at the scenery. Amble through the jungle to the natural rock pools and waterfalls. Afterwards, gaze out of the window on one of the world's most stunning train rides.
Day 8-9: Ella
Yoga, tea, waterfalls, hikes, hills, waterfalls are amongst the highlights of this pretty point nestled amidst the mountains. Learn how to cook some local cuisine, hike to the top of Little Adam's Peak for dreamy vistas and be sure to enjoy a cup of tea in the home of the beverage. For yoga lovers- join a morning class to start your day, the right way!
Day 9-10: Yala National Park
Camp amidst the tranquility of this national park before a morning of animal discovery. Enjoy watching a range of animals going about their day to day lives. Spot herds of elephants, leopards and buffaloes with our expert guide teaching you the ways of the majestic creatures.

Day 11-14: Southern Beaches
Relax in some truly beautiful, pristine beaches over a few delectable days on the South Coast. Cycle amidst rice paddies and rural villages, drink sundowners on the beach and discover the lovely cliff-side town of Galle. Plus- we'll visit a local turtle hatchery and hear about how the centre helps rehabilitate the creatures. There's plenty of relaxing beach time too 🙂
Sri Lanka Tour
Day 1
Meet your adventure leader that evening and have a pre departure briefing before wandering around the old town and enjoying a delicious welcome dinner!
Day 2
Rise early to check out the famous local fish market and witness the daily auctions before we head onto Dambulla and discover the treasure within it’s complex of caves hiding mysteries within. That evening, we’ll relax at a stunning hotel in the countryside.
Day 3
Tackle the majestic Sigriya Rock – home to marvellous views and a challenging climb up. After marvelling at the stunning vistas atop the viewpoint- we’ll head onto the anicent city of Polonnawura. Cycle around this treasure trove of temples, tombs and stupas. After an active day – it’s time to relax and our adventure leader will give you an Arrack sample- just be careful not to have too much of this potent spirit!
Day 4
Spend the day amidst the stunning Pitawala Pathana region. This day hike takes in a range of sensational scenery – forests, dry plains and waterfalls with a constant backdrop of sweeping panoramas to feast your eyes upon. It’s a easy-moderate hike and you can go at your own pace knowing there’s a heavenly rice and curry waiting for you in Kandy.
Day 5
Kandy- a jewel in Sri Lanka’s crown with an array of cultural highlights and lake-side loveliness. Start the day with a visit to one of the nation’s most iconic sights: The Temple of The Tooth. Afterwards, we’ll meet with a Buddhist monk to learn more about the role of this religion in society and the practices associated with it. We’ll then relax in the afternoon at the botanical gardens before sunset by the lake- a gorgeous way to round off the daylight. Not that your Kandy experience is over as we’ll grab a drink at the imaginatively titled “Pub” on the main street.
Day 6
We’ll visit an educational centre in rural Sri Lanka. Established in 2001- this centre has been an integral part of the local community and provides a range of educational and sporting services. Whilst there, we’ll take a lesson at the on-site table tennis academy, hear about the inspiring work of the centre and take part in a Sinhalese class. This truly unique experience will give you a sense of life in the countryside and local entrepreneurship.
Day 7
An exciting, action-packed morning awaits amidst the rainforest and adrenaline-fuelled adventure sports capital of Sri Lanka: Kitulgala. We’ll immerse oursleves in the surroundings with a whitewater rafting trip down the river and a walk amidst the jungle towards the waterfalls.The area’s natural rock pools and ravines create a natural paradise and we’ll be sure to find to chill too. That afternoon, you’ll be lulled into serenity on one the world’s most beautiful train rides from Hatton to Ella.
Day 8
Check out the rushing rapids at Rawana Falls and enjoy a dip there. In the afternoon, there’s plenty of time to enjoy the charms of Ella. This gorgeous hill town plays host to some stunning hikes, a cooking class and a visit to a tea plantation. Or simply relax amidst the stunning setting!
Day 9
Hike to Mini World’s End for a sensational sunrise stroll. We’ll arrive for a picture-perfect sunrise. The whole walk takes a couple of hours but we’ll stop for a break, on the way down, in a cafe nestled amidst the hills- a pretty unbeatable way to have your obligatory morning tea. We will then visit Udawalawe – The Elephant Transit Home- this centre is run by the wildlife authorities and it’s here where these majestic creatures are cared for until they are fit to re-enter the wild. They are raised in a controlled wild habitat and they gather 2-3 times a day in the orphanage headquarters to get their milk before heading back to their habitat. Bid farewell to the hill country and head South as we venture towards Yala National Park. We’ll pitch camp for the evening and listen out to the sounds of the wild.
Day 10
Safari in the National Park: Take an early morning jeep safari into Yala National Park. Yala is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. It affords visitors the opportunities to spot Sri Lanka’s incredible variety of wildlife ranging from painted storks, crocodiles, fantailed peacocks, monkeys, elephants, jackals, sloth bears and the star attraction; the elusive leopard! There’s a higher chance of seeing leopards here than anywhere else in the world! Head over to Unawatuna in the afternoon for some time relaxing on the beach! This beautiful stretch of water is truly ideal place to unwind.
Day 11
A day to relax and take in the delights of the surroundings. We will also do a cycling trip through the countryside where you can enjoy stunning views of rice paddies, cinnamon estates and rural villages. In the evening, relax with some drinks at sunset!
Day 12
Tuk-tuk over to Galle for a day to explore this culturally rich city- a truly captivating World Heritage Site. Wander the well preserved fort ramparts and observe the fusion of the old and new with the lighthouses, clock towers and churches combined with the chic restaurants and boutiques. We’ll take in sunset on the ramparts before returning to the delights of the beach!
Day 13
Kick off your day with a surf lesson in Hikkaduwa and then we’ll visit the nearby turtle hatchery where you can witness the care these creatures are given and the efforts of the centre to aid the injured creatures. That afternoon, it’s time for cricket on the beach before we end the day with a BBQ on the beach and reflect on the memories in this idyllic island.
Day 14
You can either carry on your trip with some extra nights on the South Coast or head back up to Colombo to fly home

A deposit is required to make a reservation on our Sri Lanka tour with the balance due 70 days prior to departure (unless booking with one of our promotions, for which specific balance due dates may apply).
The deposit is 10% of the group tour price (unless stated otherwise). If you book on to our Sri Lanka tour less than 70 days prior to departure, the full balance will be due within 3 days of booking.
Bookings within 40 days are available only on a request basis.

If you’d like to upgrade to a private room the prices are listed below. The upgrade fee is for the room, not per person.
Single room – £345 (One person to a room)
Double room – £230 (Two people sharing one room)
Additional Services
Once you get to Sri Lanka on a group adventure tour, you may not want to leave. We can book additional nights accommodation at the beginning and end of your trip to allow for some time to relax as our tours are fast-paced. It’s £12 for a pre night in a dorm room and £16 for a post night in a dorm room.
We can also arrange for transfers to pick you up and drop you off at the airport. These cost £40 per vehicle.

If you are in possession of a drone when entering the country it is your responsibility to be informed of and follow all local laws. This may include registering your drone with authorities.
