Day 1: Jinan

Welcome to Jinan! Begin the trip with a visit to a local Chinese school and engage in a conference style-debate with the local students. In the afternoon, visit the famous Baotu Springs and take a walk through the old city – an area as rich in history as it is in beauty.

Day 2: Tai'an

Visit Mount Tai, known as the most sacred mountain in China and the king of The Five Peaks. Hike up the mountain at a leisurely pace, taking breaks at the most scenic points to sketch the incredible landscape. Students can unwind at the end of the day with either a Chinese foot-massage or back-cupping!

Day 3: Qufu

A visit to San Kong will immerse the group in classical Confucianism, with visits to his temple, mansion and tomb which date back thousands of years. Students will then have the chance to participate in a Confucian customs, values, and practical application class. End the day with a BBQ, cooking competition, and a talent show!

Day 4: Qufu

On their second day in Qufu students travel into the countryside and visit a local primary school. Students are invited to interact with the children and make learning books with them; this is a great opportunity for the students to practice their Mandarin. Following the trip to the school is a reflection session on the day’s activities.

Day 5: Jinan

The group transfers to Jinan by coach. Students can go to Furong Street for some last minute souvenir shopping (optional) before heading to the airport to fly home!
