Travel the real South Korea

Explore South Korea’s unique history, natural beauty, rich culture and mouth-watering cuisine. From bustling, neon-lit metropolises to rolling countryside hills, long sandy beaches to temples in the mountains, and even a visit to the historic Demilitarized Zone, our adventure leaders will take you off-the-beaten-track and show you life like a local on this unforgettable South Korean experience.

About our South Korea Tours

South Korea has distinct seasons, with very hot and humid summers and icy cold winters. While it’s a great destination at any time of year, spring and autumn are likely to be the most pleasant in terms of the weather. Similarly to Japan, Korea has a cherry blossom season during the spring months, so this is a particularly scenic time to visit.

On our South Korea trip, you’ll take buses and trains. All modes of transport we use are clean and reliable, while also bringing a taste of the country’s daily life. Stations are signposted in English as well as Korean hangul script, so getting around is pretty straightforward.

Taxis are also a great and inexpensive option for short trips, though some forward planning is advised as most taxi drivers do not speak English.

There’s a great variety of accommodation on our South Korea trip, from cosy guesthouses to a night spent in a Buddhist temple.  All of the accommodation we include on our trip has been chosen for its high standards of comfort and cleanliness, as well as its authentic Korean charm.  The temple stay in particular is a real once-in-a-lifetime experience. You’ll have the chance to take part in a meditation class and sunmudo martial arts session in a majestic mountain setting.

Korean cuisine is hearty, flavoursome and unique, with loads of delicious dishes to try. You’ve probably heard of kimchi, a spicy fermented cabbage dish that Koreans eat with pretty much everything. It’s more palatable than it sounds and definitely a must-try.  Other dishes include bibimbap, rice layered with different toppings – such as vegetables, grilled meat, seafood, fried egg – and served with a spicy sauce. There’s also gogigui, Korean barbeque, served at restaurants which typically have a grill in the centre of the table, allowing you to cook your own meal. Pajeon is another great option – a chunky pancake, with vegetables, meat, kimchi or seafood cooked into the batter, served with a special dipping sauce.

Visa-free entry to South Korea is available to British, American, Australian and EU passport holders. If you are travelling from elsewhere, be sure to check your country’s status before booking.

Temporary change to K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization):

From April 1st 2023 to December 31st 2024, visitors from 22 regions are exempt from applying for the K-ETA & paying the 10,000KRW/pp fee.

These are:
Japan, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, UK, Austria, Italy, France, Finland, Poland, United States (including Guam), Canada, New Zealand, Australia.

The K-ETA site will notify eligible passengers if they are exempt at the application stage. However, if passengers do not want to fill out an arrival card, they can still choose to apply for the K-ETA.
