Experience the glorious scenery and incredible culture of the Tibetan Plateau on this 11-day China school trip. Hike through towering mountain ranges, visit remote villages to experience rural life and volunteer with China's national treasure - the giant panda. Leave the modern world behind, and experience one of Asia's most fascinating and unique cultures.
Arrive at Chengdu Airport and transfer to the city where you’ll visit the People’s Park – an oasis within the city. Whilst there, enjoy a Kungfu lesson, then transfer to Dujiangyan for a welcome banquet and trip briefing with your local guide.
Day 2: Panda Base
Today you will volunteer at the Dujiangyan Panda Base. Learn about China’s national treasure as you feed, clean and nurture these beautiful creatures. After dinner, visit Guanxian Old Town.
Day 3:Qingcheng Mountain
Start the day with a visit to the 2000 year-old Dujiangyan Irrigation System. In the afternoon, hike up Qingcheng Mountain where a cable car will bring you to a nearby peak for incredible panoramic views. In the evening, explore the bustling city square in Dujianyan.
Day 4: Siguniang Mountains Town
Travel to the Siguniang Mountains, and pass through the beautiful scenery of Wolong along the way. Check in to your accommodation. In the afternoon hike in the Shuangqiao Valley.
Day 5: Waterfalls, Mountains, and horseback riding
In the morning, travel to the Lama temple and hike to the base camp – Xiaganhaizi. See a beautiful waterfall and ride horses to Muluozi to see the Camel mountains and Yaomei mountains. Ride back to Kushutan in the evening.
Day 6: Jiaju Tibetan Village
Drive to the Danba and visit the traditional Jiaju Tibetan Village and admire the jaw-dropping scenery.
Day 7: Sichuan Hotpot
Start the day sightseeing in Danba. Visit the Ancient Block Towers, Dadu river valley, and meet the Jiarong Tibetan people. Visit Kangding, and in the evening try Sichuan Hotpot!
Day 8: Hot springs and Red Sea Grassland
Start the day with a visit to Mugecuo lake, Rhododendron Gorge, Horse Ping and the Seven Colour Sea. Relax at the local hot springs before taking a boat trip across Muge Lake. finishing your visit at the iconic Red Sea grassland.
Day 9: Glacier Forest Park
After breakfast, visit the Hailuo valley. On the way you’ll see breath-taking views of Glacier Forest Park and then take a cable car to the Ice Waterfall, Gongga snow mountains and glacier. Relax by a Tibetan camp fire in Moxi.
Day 10: Famous Sichuan Opera
Depart from the snow mountains and return to Chengdu. Stop for lunch along the way through Ya’an, then visit a traditional teahouse and watch a traditional Sichuan opera performance.
Day 11: Fly Home
Transfer to Chengdu airport for flight home.

All transportation within China, including all inner-city transfers. City transportation in private and fully insured coaches or occasionally public transport.
Transfers to other cities will either be through internal flights, fast trains and day trains, or overnight sleeper trains.

All meals during your stay according to the itinerary.
Most meals will be local Chinese food and we try to choose a variety of different food in each city, as well as local specialties. We are flexible on the trip and have experience in ordering food for students. For trips longer than 7 days we will typically have at least 1 western fast food meal or similar alternative for lunch or dinner.
Breakfasts are typically have both western style and local options.
Bottled drinking water is provided on the coach.
Groups of 15 students or more will have a leader throughout the trip and local guide in each location. Groups of less than 15 students will have local guides in each location and trains and flight transfers will be unguided.
If a large group would prefer just 1 local guide price reductions are available.

Due to the nature of the times international flights depart China, the last day of the itinerary does not include activities.
If the departing flight leaves in the afternoon or evening, we can provide activities and meals during the day for a small additional charge.
Free places include all costs in China (food, accommodation, tickets etc.) but exclude international flights and visas.
