Discover this fascinating and beautiful nation on this 2 week group tour.
Our Myanmar Tours
Our group tours of Myanmar take you into the heart of this stunning nation. Sandwiched between the old-world charms of Yangon and the stunning beaches of the Bay of Bengal- there are jungle treks, lake-side idylls, waterfalls, pagoda-studded Bagan and magical Mandalay. This 2 week tour will give you an understanding into one of the region's emerging destinations and a chance to discover a magical place!
Our Myanmar tour takes you through urban areas, rural areas and everywhere in between. Every step of the way we travel with respect and care. We use public transport, stay in small hostels and with local communities, and ensure we clear up after ourselves as we travel.
The Adventure Leaders
Your guide will be an expert on the places we visit and English-speaking, leading you through fascinating, budget friendly, authentic experiences. Whether that be guiding you through the jungle, cycling through Bagan’s temples or sampling seafood by the ocean.
The People
Each trip is different, but our travelers come from all over the world and from every background. Before your Myanmar group tour why not connect with fellow Dragon Trippers or meet people on The Dragon Trip Facebook page.

Travel the real Myanmar
On our Myanmar group tour- we discover the nation’s stunning beaches, ancient cities and trek through the jungle. This 2 week tour offers huge variety but is consistently beautiful and fascinating culturally! Myanmar promises to be the next big thing in tourism in Asia so grab your chance to come here before the crowds to and immerse yourself in this stunning country,
You can visit Myanmar throughout the year. The dry season is from October until May with a lot of the country’s tourism coming between November and February. However, the dates on either side of this are also a very pleasant time to travel. The areas around Bagan and Mandalay stay pretty consistently dry throughout the year.
On our Myanmar tour, you’ll take a combination of buses and trains. All modes of transport we use are clean and reliable, while also bringing a taste of the country’s daily life.
We stay in a variety of accommodation which helps to showcases the places that we visit. In the cities, we’ll stay in hostels that are well-located, buzzing and offer a snapshot into an emerging culture in the region. In the more rural areas- we’ll use more traditional accommodation. One night is in a home-stay on the jungle trek experience and the other is in a treehouse nestled in the jungle.
A feature of all Dragon Trips is giving travellers the chance to sample the full range of any country’s cuisine. In Myanmar, there’s lots of delicious options to sample! There’s a fair amount of regional variation with the areas around Yangon having more fish paste and sour food whereas the northern part tends to have more sesame, nuts and beans. There’s also plenty of Shan cuisine which is similar to northern Thai cuisine. Lots of delicious noodle and curry dishes and the common maung jeut (rice crackers) are also a standard feature. We’ll sample some of the traditional Shan food on our jungle trek and homestay experience!
The best way to get a visa is through the country’s e-visa system. You can log into: http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/ and then follow the on-screen links. The cost is 50 USD and you’ll need to have a a passport style photo to upload. It’s an easy and straight-forward system. Alternatively – you can apply through your nation’s embassy.
