We believe travelling is about what we learn.
It’s about being open-minded, meeting new people, sharing genuine experiences and living life like the locals. These are the values that we live by at The Dragon Trip. Everything we do – from researching trips to running them – aims to give our ‘Dragons’ a truly authentic taste of the eye-opening places we visit. So, from camping under the stars on the Great Wall of China to becoming sushi-making experts in Tokyo’s fish market, here’s our promise to you:
No tourist traps. No package deals. Just Dragon Trips.
Over nearly 6 years, we’ve welcomed over 4,000 people on life-changing adventures across China and Japan, and we expect thousands more in 2017. Our diverse groups now consist of budget backpacking tours (including the young and young-at-heart), family tours, and student groups from some of the world’s most prestigious schools and universities. Since trip 1, our goal has always been to deliver on our promise of authentic, insightful and unforgettable travel.
We’ve seen hundreds of 5 star reviews, countless life-changing experiences (including 2 engagements!) and been featured in media far and wide. Our friendly team – now over 20-strong – are from 7 different countries, speak 11 languages, and are located in our offices in Shanghai, Beijing and London.
2010 – 2011: China Tours
On witnessing how such a fascinating country as China was barely known to the outside world, our founder created a world-beating, ‘off-the-beaten-track’ itinerary and led our very first China Adventures.
2012 – 2014: Educational Tours and School Trips
After two great seasons, we created Learning Adventures, extending genuine China experiences to students from schools and universities around the world. We also established offices in Shanghai and Beijing to support our growing operations.
2014 – NOW: Japan Tours… and onwards
We’ve expanded rapidly to new lands. We opened an office in London to make authentic travel more accessible to more people, and we also launched our first Japan Adventures. We’ve now taken over 2,500 backpackers from 23 countries and 1,500 students from over 40 schools, and we’re only just getting started!
