If you ask someone who has travelled to China what it’s like, they’ll most likely tell you it’s like nowhere you’ve been before. That might seem intimidating, but it’s one of the greatest features of the country. With its vast size and huge population comes megacities like Beijing and Shanghai, both of which make London seem little. In fact, area-wise, Beijing is 10 times the size of London! China’s cities are a great way to see how the country is so quickly developing, with hugely icon skylines and some of the most efficient public transport systems in the world. But they’ve also retained their history and a visit to any city in China will give you insight into the country’s past. From The Forbidden City to the Temple of Heaven, and the Hutongs and the Great Wall of China, Beijing is absolutely bursting with history just waiting to be explored. You may think that Shanghai is all glitz and glam and bright lights, but tucked away you’ll find the tranquil Yu Gardens and French Concession area, dating back to the colonial era.
It doesn’t stop there! China’s cities are only a part of what the country has to offer. The countryside and rural areas of China are some of the most underrated areas and are undoubtedly the places where you can take a peek at what life here is really like. From seeing the pandas in Chengdu, located in central China, to the karst mountain peaks of Yangshuo, to the tea plantations in Fujian, you’re guaranteed to find things here that you didn’t even know you needed to experience!
So we’ve convinced you to travel to China, but now you’re wondering how to do it. That’s where we come in.
